Job Profile for Snr. Technical Trainer / Head Trainer
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties of the Head trainer will include, but are not limited to the following:
Developing and conducting training programs for internal and external customers.
Conducting training needs assessment based on interaction with industry stakeholders and trainees;
Designing training manuals;

Evaluating the effectiveness of training sessions by collating and analyzing feedback from trainees;
Developing programs to enhance training curriculum.
Developing training packages based on customers’ gap assessment
Developing and maintaining customer relationship
Developing and ameliorating processes for efficient training quality delivery
Direct responsibility for budget and Cost of training centre
Direct responsibility for offer management and resource planning
Developing and managing the training centers’ team /staff
Conduct staff annual appraisal and responsible for staff development, retention and motivation
Developing a marketing and sales’ plan including necessary documents and templates for training centre
Responsibility in offer management and training sales execution
Present Siemens training portfolio at seminars, fairs and sales meetings
Responsible to conduct business target agreements with local, cluster and HQ management
Responsible for technical and financial reporting to local, cluster and HQ management
Shared responsibility in managing the consultancy and engineering business of Siemens PTI in Africa.
REQUIREMENTS
Work Experience:
Minimum of 8 years post qualification experience, preferably in the areas of power plant (or Transmission & Distribution network) commissioning, planning and maintenance. Also, experience with customer trainings and customer management is required. Additionally experience in project management especially with regards to offer management, cost management, account management, technical and financial reporting and quality is highly required. Experience in sales, business development, marketing and account management is highly recommended for this position.
Educational Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelors degree in either Electrical engineering or Mechanical engineering
A relevant masters degree or its equivalent would be an advantage
Post graduation / additional degree in management, finance, marketing or similar will be required (if managing skills and competences were acquired in a similar position this could be accepted)
Registration with COREN would also be an advantage
Technical & Managing Expertise:
Understanding of the Nigerian power sector (Transmission, Distribution, Generation) — knowing the key concepts and variables;
Deep practical and technical knowledge of power transmission and distribution networks;
Demonstrable knowledge of power system protection and substation automation;
Demonstrable knowledge of functions, features, and potential applications of electronic systems (like protection, substation automation, etc.) or mechanical systems (like switchgears);
Extensive experience using communication solutions for utilities and industries;
Familiarity with Siemens Power Generation, transmission and distribution products is desirable.
Understand the design of efficient processes and their implementation
Experience in design of marketing and sales strategy
Proficiency in basic finance and design of business planning
Proficient experience in business reporting and review.
Accurate experience in customer / new account acquisition and their management
Intensive experience in team leading and motivation
Others:
High proficiency and understanding of computer applications (such as MS office -mail and project, ERP e.g SAP, CRM e.g. philos, offer calculation tools, etc…):
Advanced presentation Skills — Presents information effectively and persuasively across communication settings;
Questioning Skill — gathering information from stimulating insight in individuals and groups through use of interviews, questionnaires, and other probing methods.
Handles work of diverse scope and complexity;
Grasps technical concepts and communicates them effectively.
Healthy and analytic mind set.
Proficient business communication skills (both verbal, non verbal and written) are required.
Ability to conduct difficult business discussions and negotiations is required
Self starter and hyper motivated
Additional language (French, Spanish, German) will be an advantage
Position to led on a medium term to a full managerial position as head of training centre
Familiar with Siemens business conduct guideline or Siemens compliance program or having your personal values aligning with both.
