Responsilbilities:
- To train and coach drillers, assistant drillers, derrickmen, floormen and general on-site personnel among others.
- To work with the Rig HSE officers to ensure general respect of COMPANY’s set out HSE procedures.
- To ensure the proper conformity to the lifting and handling of equipment and identification of hazards to guarantee incident-free operations.
- To pay special attention to the workflow pattern adopted by floor men and general on-site personnel to ensure ONLY safe actions are undertaken in an optimized manner to improve operational efficiency.
- To Contribute to the return on Exploration & Production investments, through a continual search for improvement in terms of drilling equipment, services and operational procedures.
Description:
- HSE Related Services
- CONTROL and IDENTIFY the Community workforce to ensure ONLY properly identified individuals by COMPANY are allowed access to work area. Eliminate IMPERSONATION by untrained hands.
- Ensure that appropriate PPE’s are worn and used at all times as required for the task in progress.
- Ensure drilling and/or completion operations are conducted in full respect of CLIENT safety rules, of the environment and in conformance with established industry practices.
- As directed by CLIENT Drilling Supervisor, represent the CLIENT Drilling Supervisor for all aspects involving rig personnel, in the HSE preparation of delicate / risky operations (risks analysis, work permit and associated mitigation measures, pre-job safety meeting, etc.). Report back HSE preparation status to CLIENT Senior Drilling Supervisor (RSES-D).
- Follow up CLIENT rig HSE punch lists related to rig workforce especially the Community in conjunction with the HSE Supervisor, DLO and Company man to ensure full compliance.
Operational Activities/Services
- Be always present on the rig floor during operations to impact proper work practices to the workforce bringing to bear his experience. When needed for deserving operations, coach the COMPANY’s general on-site workers to establish safe work rhythm.
- Be visible to both COMPANY’s Drilling Contractor and Service Companies as additional CLIENT Supervisory Personnel, specifically in charge of coaching workforce for optimized performance.
- As directed by CLIENT Drilling Supervisor, prepare and/or supervise delicate or risky operations, especially during night shifts. Endeavour to be always present for such tasks.
- Anticipate potential operational problems and suggest alternative strategies to CLIENT Drilling Supervisors, tool pushers, drillers etc....
- Review preparation of rig moves (especially personnel related actions based on defined procedure, etc.) to anticipate potential problems and suggest alternative solutions to CLIENT Drilling Team when required.
- Contribute to the improvement of skills and rig crew know-how. In particular, focus on Drilling Contractor crew * improvement of skills: monitor progress and suggest possible improvements (trainings, procedures, supervision, etc.).
- As directed by CLIENT Drilling Supervisor, compose and/or review operating procedures with rig crew to ensure proper understanding of required actions.
- Analyze instantaneous drilling data and suggest possible improvement to CLIENT Drilling Supervisors.
- As directed by CLIENT Drilling Supervisor, follow up and assist the activity of other contractors and supervisors in their tasks.
- Participate in the production of technical and operational syntheses (including phase’s debriefings, CTAs, etc.).
- Follow up COMPANY rig equipment punch list versus Contractual requirements. Follow-up COMPANY’s Drilling Contractor actions to ensure closure of items in time targets on line with Drilling Industry standards.
- Bond with Rig crew to earn their confidence. Be fully available while on duty to ensure no slippage.
Accountadilities
- Eliminate all cases of Impersonation through bonding with workforce and explaining the risks associated with it.
- Ensure LTIF, TRIR, HIPO from workforce are in line with CLIENT DCD objectives
- Assist in the improvement of COMPANY Drilling contractor performances (NPT Drilling Cont ractor, cased hole tripping speed, flat time, rig move / skidding durations, etc.) through optimization of workflow processes.
- Contribute to Daily, Weekly and Monthly reports on compliance of personnel with HSE activities and competence improvements observed.
- No decision taken on behalf of CLIENT Senior / Junior Drilling Supervisors.
- No hands-on allowed on Drilling Contractor tasks except to demonstrate proper ways of equipment handling tasks.
- No formal / informal reporting to CLIENT base office without reference to CLIENT Drilling Supervisor. Always refer to and advise Drilling Supervisor Senior and/or Junior on all issues with potential to escalate as appropriate. Thus, always respect the only communication channel through CLIENT Drilling Supervisor to base office.
Required Qualifications / experience
- Initial formal education – diplomas: O’ level 1years (National Diploma) as a minimum.
- Experienced in simultaneous drilling and production and construction works
- Good knowledge of Offshore and Onshore drilling operations, in particular Jack-up activities if required to co-ordinate offshore drilling operations.
- Fluent in English language
