Job Description

The technical director of the region is the technical leader in the range of Coiled Tubing in Africa and is responsible for delivering industry leading technology solutions to our clients while mentoring and developing our regional technical team . It is a position of high prestige that offers significant potential opportunity to move towards a role of leader of the operational line or a superior product.

Responsibilities

• Actively promote the conditions and safe work practices and ensure that the management system for the safety of Baker Hughes followed.
• Ensure that the technical and engineering aspects of the business are conducted with professionalism and respect international standards and SOP Baker Hughes & Ps client.
• Ensure the effective delivery of quality control of work, safety , standards and practices QA / QC system to cover the process of chemical control to post job controls when needed.
• The introduction of new technologies Champion to meet target area product line of new recipes and product introduction of new technologies.
• Generate coordination with pillars and Geomarket operations managers and FP & A Manager area Manager a monthly report on the activities of the region.
• Ensure that the technical programs are developed using the best available data and practices monitoring.
• Work on engineering and technical solutions that give a competitive advantage Baker Hughes projects.
• Monitor the performance of the entire technical staff of the region through close personal contact to ensure achievement of established performance standards.
• Tracking career for engineers and technicians and provide quarterly training recommended to Geos.
• Develop and maintain contact with customers on a basis as required to deal with technical issues.
• Manage the day to day engineering and technical activities in the region.
• In charge of the preparation of tenders for the border areas.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly plans in terms of engineering and technology and interacting with the Director of Operations for Geo define the technical equipment , staff and facilities.
• Conduct internal technical seminars and customers on a regular basis.
• Maintain close liaison with the staff of field service organization and BHI product line.
• Make periodic visits to workplaces to assess the technical staff and the effectiveness of technical recommendations.
• Frequent contributor to internal and external technical publications and directly by the technical team of the region.
• Participate (eg SPE ) technical functions of society, study groups, etc.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in deepwater cementing including laboratory , field and design, in-house customer experience is a plus.
• Significant overall experience coil.
• Experience Stimulation, Coiled Tubing or service tools is a plus.
• Active participant in industry and technology companies.
• Experience in sales and business development.
• This role involves some travel in Africa (about 1 week a month in Africa).
